Andy's Bio

I have always had an infatuation with airplanes so in 1982 I took my first flying lesson. By 1989 I had received my commercial license and was furthering my training by receiving CFI, CFII, MEI and AGI certificates while also acting as an instructor for Reno Flying Service.

By 1991, I was flying charters and bank mail for the same company and later became their chief flight instructor and assistant chief pilot.

In 1992, I started a small corporate flight department for Homes America. I had accumulated several thousand flight hours and was responsible for managing budgets, hangar storage, insurance, purchasing fuel and maintenance schedules. I started working nights and weekends at a maintenance shop to help me understand aircraft maintenance and expense. In 1996 I had met the requirements for the Airframe and Powerplant license.

Over the next few years Homes America had grown from one plane to three. During this time I began networking and building very important relationships with outside vendors and professionals such as aviation accountants, attorneys, salesmen and A&P mechanics.

In 1994, I was hired as a pilot to fly air ambulance for Medic-Air in Reno, Nevada. In 1997, I was hired as a pilot to fly air ambulance for Med-Flight, also located in Reno, Nevada.

In 1998 Homes America was sold to Champion Homes and the flight department was dissolved. One of the planes was sold to Southern Showcase Homes in North Carolina and I was asked to help with the start-up of that department and management of the airplane until 2004.

In 2004, I was approached by Mr. Godwin, the owner of Atlantic Aero, to start an aircraft management service. In 2004 I started Aircraft Management Services with the belief of providing a safe, professional, trouble-free flight department. Since that time we have successfully managed flight departments for numerous corporations and individuals.

I am currently working with Honda Jet as a test pilot on their new very light jet (VLJ) aircraft.
